Ahhh...Sweet Freedom

It's that time of year again... My
Amazing parents have come to
retrieve my kids for endless
fun at gma and gpa's!! Did I mention
I am kidless for a few weeks!! :>
I am also spouseless for a few days
He had to run off to Cuba and then to Cali next week.
There is, unfortunately, a very large, very
dirty house calling my name!! It needs
a little TLC!! Can you imagine how much
I can get done without anyone else to make
messes!!!!!! I will miss my kiddos (and
David) a lot, but won't sniff the gift fish either!!
Thanks mom and dad for wanting to spend time
with your grandkids and doing whatever it takes
to make it possible!! You really are the best!!!

The Power of Postitve...

I've had one of those weeks.
I worked all weekend and the Holiday while my
family went camping without me! Had the worst Migraine
in history on Sunday- subsequently missed church
and Sharing Time (that I was responsible for).
We are doing some readjusting of roles with
David being home. This always proves to be
stressful. I got MRSA!! -the list goes on and on.
The point is this- As I drove to work this morning
I realized I am focusing so much energy on how
crazy life is, that I'm wearing myself out!!
I thought of something my Gma says to me often,
"If you want a good day, you have
to make it one". This is usually the last thing I
want to hear when my life is in chaos, but It is what
I need to hear!!
I decided to think of things I love and make me happy
during the rest of my commute. I found myself smiling
by the time I got to work!
The List ( I better write them down for posterity sake,
Hope I remember them all):
The Gospel
My family- (Jaden was singing in the backseat as I was
thinking of my list!)
David being home and his amazing knowledge of the gospel!
Jaden kisses and his sense of humor
Jaxon hugs and his incredibly kind heart
Chloe's smile and her extremely intelligent little brain!!
Watching my kids succeed.
My mom's voice when she calls
My grammy
My nieces!
Hearing my new nephew through the phone.
Laughing with my sister- happening more every day!
Plotting with Amy!
Cooking
Starbucks Hot Chocolate (confession: I really love the smell
of Starbuck's! I love to go in just so I can smell stuff!)
Key Lime Yogurt Pie (there's not much this one won't cure!)
Michael Buble
My"stories"-Burn Notice, NCIS , Bones, Royal Pains, White Collar,
and Psych
DVR (so I can record all my shows and watch them on Sat. night!)
really hot baths
The Rocky Mountains
Snow!- Lots and Lots of snow!!!
Sweaters
Jeans
Fires in Fireplaces (not in backyards!!)
The sound of the ocean (the real ocean, not a CD!)
Bubble gum
Diet Dr. Pepper!! (probably causes the migraines)
British comedy
Disney-anything
Great movies (saw The Blindside this weekend!)
Real Butter!
Steak and Rolls from Texas Roadhouse!
Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake (or anything else on
the menu for that matter!)
My new steam mop!
Spending money (I feel so much better when I buy stuff!:>)
Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets
Hershey's milk chocolate
Costco

(why is it that half this list is food? :> )
I'm sure I missed a few, but I am still smiling.

Daily Religious Tidbits

One thing I love about living in the South is the
plethra of Religion. Most people are very devout
in their respective Faith's. Some go so far as to post
Scriptural reference on thier vehicles and store fronts.
I usually have my 7 verses read by the time I get to work!
Revelations 1:9 seems to be a favorite.
In front of most churches you will find a small billboard like you
would find in front of a school. Pastors post a
message, usually Sunday's sermon topic, for
passerby's to read. I love to read them! Some are really
clever. This week a couple caught my eye....
" Our church is Prayer conditioned" -hilarious!
" Courage is Fear with a dose of Prayer"-clever
Although some messages are rather blasphemous,
I do admire the courage of these individuals for
sharing thier Faith. I need to be more like that!

Welcome Home!!

David made it home yesterday!! We are all
So glad he's home! The kids are so excited they
can hardly stand it! I am pretty ecstatic too! My
stress level decreased about 100 fold when he
walked off the plane!! (Phew...we survived!)
We are looking forward to spending lot's of
time together this weekend! Thanks to
everyone for your prayers on David's behalf
and our family's behalf.

Flower Girl

My good friend Lauren asked Chloe to be her flower girl.
She was so excited and we had a such a great time.
Chloe and I got to spend the weekend just the two of us.
The Wedding was beautiful and we were so excited for
Miss Lauren and Mr. Kyle!
We got to see some beautiful country too! The wedding
was held in North Wilksboro! It is up in the "M'ountains" of NC.
They may not be Rocky's, but they were gorgeous! So green!
